Damascus, SANA – Ministry of Health received Thursday 30 mobile clinics from the World Health Organisation (WHO) to enhance medical services provided to citizens, particularly those affected by the current events in the country.
Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said in a statement to the reporters that the new clinics will be quite helpful to make up a shortfall in medical service centers in the areas mostly affected by the terrorist attacks.
The Ministry had already prepared the necessary medical staff to operate the clinics, Yazigi added, noting that 10 of the clinics will be allocated for civil associations working in the medical field.
Resident Representative of the WHO in Damascus Elizabeth Hoff told reporters that the clinics will contribute to ensuring that all needy people in all areas, including those difficult to reach, gain access to medical services.
In March, 2014, the WHO handed over the Health Ministry four medical clinics to provide healthcare services in Damascus, Hama, Deir Ezzor and Idleb.
