Damascus, SANA- Minister of Public Works and Housing Suhail Abdul Latif discussed with China’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Damascus Shi Hongwei means of boosting cooperation between the two countries in the housing and reconstruction areas.
During the meeting held Tuesday, Minister Abdul Latif attached great importance to translate the directives of President Bashar al-Assad for promoting the economic ties between Syria and the friendly countries up to the high level of those political.
He also noted the importance of learning from the Chinese expertise in the field of housing in a way that contributes to the reconstruction process and the supplying of equipment to detect the buildings damaged over the devastating earthquake.
The Minister valued China’s continued support to Syria and its honorable stances at the international and local forums in addition to providing aid to those affected by the earthquake.
Ambassador Shi Hongwe, for his part, affirmed his country’s firm support to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, highlighting the need for enhancing mutual support and cooperation, particularly in the housing and reconstruction areas.
Accordingly, he noted that China is working on transferring mechanisms and techniques that contribute to detecting quake-affected buildings.
