Damascus, SANA- In the presence of Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and a number of ministers, the activities of the 9th session of the Council of the General Federation of Trade Unions, kicked off on Sunday.
The participants underlined the necessity of raising salary caps, exempting the minimum wage from tax, securing job opportunities for youth, restructuring and supporting the public sector, and developing the industrial sector.
They also called for employability of the temporary workers, raising the retirement age, and activating health insurance for retirees, in addition to several issues that serve the citizens.
