Damascus, SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, met with Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander V. Yakovenko and the accompanying delegation.
The two sides exchanged views on various issues among which the geopolitical developments and the changing world order and its regional and international implications.
Minister Mikdad emphasized the similar stances of Syria and the Russian Federation and their support for International Law and its principle of fairness and equality among states.
Furthermore, Foreign and Expatriates Minister pointed out that the West is struggling for political and economic hegemony over other countries, thus, imposing unilateral coercive measures on Syria and the Russian Federation, aiming at undermining and impoverishing their own people.
Rector Yakovenko, for his part, said that the foremost changes taking place in the global arena are those economic, financial, political, and technological ones.
Such changes lead countries of the world to seek economic alternatives and to break free from the Western financial hegemony and economic predominance, namely, the unilateral coercive measures.
He also asserted that the US is the biggest beneficiary of conflicts throughout the world, hence fueling wars among countries to maintain the dollar’s global hegemony.
In the meanwhile, both sides agreed upon promoting cooperation and sharing expertise.
