Lattakia, SANA- Lattakia Governor, Eng. Amer Hilal met on Monday with Head of al-Farabi Humanitarian Foundation in Kazakhstan, Akmaral Batalova and the accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with various aspects of support and ways for benefiting from the assistance provided by Kazakhstan in cooperation with the directorates concerned and the distribution of relief materials to earthquake-affected people.
“After my previous visit to Syria, accompanied by humanitarian aid provided by the Kazakh government, and after inspecting the great damage caused by the earthquake, contacts were made with civil society activities, associations and charitable funds to provide additional support to meet some needs and alleviate the suffering of the earthquake- affected people,”, Batalova said in a statement to reporters.
“We collected humanitarian aid from the local community and the people who participated in providing foodstuffs, clothing, and everything that could help those affected in such difficult circumstances, in addition to electric generators, tents, and medicines, in cooperation with humanitarian and charitable organizations.”, Batalova added.
Batalova’s visit to Lattakia governorate comes in framework to deliver a second shipment of aid provided by the people and local community activities in Kazakhstan to the earthquake-affected people, which includes tents, medicines, relief supplies and foodstuffs.
