Damascus, SANA-The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, discussed with the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus, Shi Hongwei, ways to strengthen bilateral relations, advancing the educational and health ones.
Dr. Ibrahim noted the depth of the historical relations binding Syria and China, which achieved important success at all levels, referring to the role that China played during the war on Syria, the Corona pandemic, and the earthquake through its support for university hospitals.
Ibrahim pointed out the importance of making the most of the available scientific capabilities, establishing more cooperation in the fields of exchanging scientific visits, expertise and joint scientific research among Syrian and Chinese universities, in addition to the possibility of increasing scholarships provided by China, particularly in some qualitative specializations.
The Chinese ambassador stressed that the friendship linking China and Syria extends throughout history, expressing his intention to enhance the existing cooperation in various fields and his endeavor to develop it to include other sectors and broader fields in a way that achieves the aspirations and interest of their peoples.
