President al-Assad meets the new ministers : Changing people is not an end in itself, but a means to raise performance and level of work

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad emphasized that changing people is not an end in itself, but a means and instrument to raise the performance and level of work in ministries and institutions.

“The issue of change is not related to people’s names but to their ability to provide a new addition in their ministries and institutions according to the existing objective realities, as well as their ability to build working systems that enhance their role and create dynamism in the institutions performance ,” President al-Assad said during a meeting with the new ministers after they were sworn in before him, in the presence of the Prime Minister Hussein Arnous.

President al-Assad considered that ministerial action is manifested by the ability of harmonizing possibilities and reality with ideas and policies, and this requires managing resources in a fair and reasonable manner to ensure that they are best use of them and investing available opportunities in an efficient manner.

President al-Assad noted that the policies established by each ministry must be in harmony with the government’s policies, and stressed the importance of contacts with citizens.

President al-Assad called for intolerance towards corruption and considered that it is not enough for the official to be honest but that he must be able to fight corruption within his ministry or institution, and that the success of the government is linked to the magnitude of achieving justice and application of the laws on all.

Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Firas Hassan Qaddour,
Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister Mohsen Abdul Karim Ali, Industry Minister Abdul Qader Jokhadar, Social Affairs Minister Louai Emad El-Din al-Munajjid , and State Minister Ahmed Mohammad Bustaji were sworn in before President al-Assad.
