Manila, SANA- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the southern Philippines.
According to the US Geological Survey, the tremor was recorded 180 km northwest of Sarangani village, at a depth of 70.5 km, and there were no immediate reports of material damage or human losses.
The Philippines is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, where about 90 percent of the world’s earthquakes occur, making it highly vulnerable to disasters.
