Damascus, SANA- Minister of Water Resources, Dr. Tammam Raad, discussed with the Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization at the United Nations (FAO) in Damascus, Michael Robson, enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the field of water projects.
Raad stressed the importance of water projects and their role in achieving food security and social stability and the return of the displaced to their areas.
Raad pointed out to the continued cooperation with all international organizations in all fields that serve interest of the Syrian citizen.
Raad noted to the effects of the earthquake on water facilities and projects and the need to rehabilitate them as quickly as possible, due to its impact on the service and agricultural reality, as well as the follow-up of existing projects.
In turn, Robson noted that the organization is working to support efforts of improving the social and economic situation in Syria in cooperation with the concerned ministries, in a way that positively affects the Syrian people.
Robson expressed the organization’s readiness to support the implementation of many vital projects for the current year, as well as to assist in the rehabilitation of damaged projects.
