Shaaban meets Naumkin at Watan Document Foundation Headquarters

Damascus, SANA- Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Bouthaina Shaaban, met Thursday Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Naumkin and the accompanying delegation .

The meeting held at “Watan Document Foundation” headquarters in Damascus., as Shaaban highlighted the depth of Syrian-Russian relations and the mutual trust between the two leaders and peoples.

Shaaaban attached great importance to intensifying the co-work at the media and ideological levels, pointing out to importance of the national identity the west is seeking to destroy among all the peoples of the world.

She affirmed that today’s world is going through an important and fundamental stage of transformation, and that the West has already failed to lead the world, which is moving towards a new multipolar order.

The Syrian Advisor stressed that the Western media promotes terminology adapted to its politics, and that the East must have its own ideology that reflects its thinking and sovereignty.

She said that the war today is not only military but media and cultural.

For his part, Naumkin stressed the importance of the role played by Syria, and reiterated that Moscow always calls for the lifting of unilateral and illegal coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Moreover, Naumkin asserted the importance of sharing academic experiences between the two countries through the institutions to upgrade the mutual academic and institutional relations to the high level of those political.

“Russia is on Syria’s side and is always keen on protecting its interests,” said Naumkin, affirming the importance of continuous communication between the two sides and developing a road map for future action.
