Indonesia rejects politicization of humanitarian assistance to Syria

Jakarta, SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Retno Marsudi , affirmed her country’s rejection to politicize the file of humanitarian aid to Syria, expressing  her country’s solidarity and standing by Syria in addressing the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

During her meeting at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the new Syrian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdel Moneim Annan, , who thanked the Indonesian government for the assistance provided to the Syrian people to face the repercussions of the earthquake, Marsudi said that Indonesia refuses to politicize humanitarian work during disaster.

She added that there are some media attempts to distort facts regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to quake affected people in Syria.

Marsudi pointed out that the two Indonesian humanitarian aid planes sent to Syria, come within the framework of the historic relations between the two friendly countries, stressing that her country will provide more aid to Syria.
