Jakarta, SANA- President of Indonesia Joko Widodo stressed that his country will send further relief aid to those afflicted by the earthquake in Syria.
This came during President Widodo’s tour in Halim Airport in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta to inspect relief and humanitarian materials to be sent for the affected of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
The Indonesian assistance includes two planes that will head to Damascus accompanied by Indonesian governmental delegation, in addition to disasters and research experts.
President Widodo said in a statement during the tour “we previously sent a shipment of foodstuffs and other logistics needed to help earthquake-affected people,” expressing hope that “humanitarian diplomacy, our country is continuously conducting, contributes to the help of our brothers there.”
For his part, Syria’s ambassador in Jakarta Abdulmonem Annan, expressed during accompanying the Indonesian president in the Airport, Syria’s thanks and appreciation over assistance that Indonesia has offered to the affected by the earthquake.
