A stand in Australia calling for lifting unjust blockade on Syria

Canberra, SANA-  A large number of the Syrian and Arab community members and their Australian friends gathered in front of the office of the Prime Minister of Australia to express solidarity with Syria in dealing with the impacts of the deadly earthquake that jolted the country on Feb. 6th.

The event also demanded lifting the unilateral and unjust Western coercive measures imposed on Syria.

The participants in the stand, including the Australian group “Hands off Syria,” raised banners expressing feelings of pain and anger at the continuation of the unjust siege on Syria.

They affirmed their standing by Syria and the right of the Syrian people to live a decent life after the successive crises and disasters, chanting slogans calling for lifting the unjust siege imposed on Syria.

The participants in the event delivered a letter of protest to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over the continuation of the economic blockade imposed on Syria, which impedes relief operations to help quake-affected people.
