Lattakia, SANA- The accompanying delegation of the ‘holy threshold of Husseiniya’ Iraqi convoy for providing relief for the quake-affected visited a number of affected sites in the cities of Lattakia and Jableh.
The visiting delegation met a number of families residing in the make-shift shelter centers, got acquainted with their basic needs and set up the work priorities in the next stage.
The Iraqi delegation discussed, during a meeting with Lattakia Governor Eng. Tayssir Habib and a number of representative of vital and services sectors, the available facilitations to provide aid to the affected people and alleviate their suffering due to the earthquake that hit the country recently.
Head of the relief campaign affiliated to the Husseiniya threshold Gen. Ali al-Hamadani told SANA reporter in a statement that the convoy carries tons of relief, food and medical materials, including an oven, a kitchen, a mobile hospital and an integrated medical team.
He highlighted the high-level cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in the province to define the neediest areas and set a work plan to ensure that aid reached the needy.
Eng. Habib, in turn, pointed out that the number f the affected people exceeds 145,000, indicating that talks with the Iraqi side concentrated on cooperation in the health, service and housing fields to find solutions to the families residing in the make-shift shelters centers and ensuring prefabricated housing.
