Teachers Syndicate rally in front of UN headquarters in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- Teachers Syndicate staged on Tuesday a sit-in in front of the UN headquarters in Damascus, expressing their solidarity with the governorates affected by the earthquake and denouncing the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria that impede the necessary response.

The participants carried national flags and banners calling for the lifting of the siege and the repealing the so-called “Caesar Act”.

“After twelve years of an unjust global war and an unfair economic blockade on a people who endured injustice, siege to an extent that cannot be tolerated, we appeal to you to lift the Caesar Act and the sanctions on Syria completely to secure medicine and food and build what has been demolished”, the participants said in a statement addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the UN Resident Coordinator in Syria.
