Syria achieved honorable results at the International Youth Math Challenge 2022

Lattakia, SANA-The team of the Center for Applied Physics and Basic Sciences, representing Syria, achieved honorable results at the International Youth Math Challenge 2022, which is held remotely in the German city of Cologne, by winning two gold medals, three silver medals, and eight bronze medals.

Thousands of students from different age groups and educational levels (basic, secondary and university education) from all over the world participate in the competition organized annually by one of the most important German educational institutions.

The scientific supervisor at the Center for Applied Physics and Basic Sciences, Bassel Sultan said that this competition is one of twenty international and local competitions in which the center participates throughout the year in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.

The outstanding students, Karim al-Maliki and Muhammad al-Muhaimid won the two gold medals, while Ahmed Ali, Haidara Melhem, and Ramah Suwaid obtained the silver medal.

The competition is one of the biggest online math competition for students from all around the world in which the students use their math skills, creativity, knowledge.
