Damascus, SANA-Embassy of Cuba in Damascus held a reception on Monday to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution.
Ambassador Miguel Porto Parga described as historic and deeply-rooted the relations between Syria and Cuba that date back to 57 years.
“The two countries share common stances, based on unity, solidarity and cooperation to confront the hostile campaigns… they have also mutual will to preserve these stances at international forums,” the Ambassador said.
He affirmed that his country will continue support to the Syrian people’s right in their freedom, independence and sovereignty, adding that the two countries are subjected to unilateral, unjust sanctions by the US.
Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, for his part, hailed Cuba’s stances in support of Syria in its war to restore the rights and liberate the land from the terrorist aggression.
“The two countries face the same war and aggression of imperialism represented by the US,” Mikdad said, affirming Syria’s support to Cuba against blockade.
