Damascus, SANA- SANA- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatna, discussed on Monday with Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Sudan, Dr. Abu Bakr Omar Al-Bushra ways of cooperation to enhance cooperation and activate agreements signed between both countries in the agricultural field.
Qatna noted to the importance of reviewing the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between both sides since 2000 in the fields of research, forestry, botanical wealth in all its forms, and plant quarantine systems, which form the basis for increasing the exchange of agricultural products.
Minister Qatna pointed out to the issue of importing agricultural products and livestock from Sudan, in return for exporting Syrian agricultural products.
The Sudanese counterpart, Al-Bushra, affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation between both countries and reviewing and developing the signed agreements, noting the role of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) in preparing for these meetings and increasing Arab rapprochement in a way that supports production increasing as well as achieving food security.
