The Hague, (SANA)-The permanent representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Ambassador Milad Attia, expressed Syria’s categorical rejection of the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere and under any circumstances.
In his speech at the opening of the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of States Parties in The Hague, the diplomat denounced that Western countries have diverted the OPCW from the purposes for which it was created and turned it into a platform to make false accusations against Syria and Russia.”
“The United States, France and Britain have turned the organization into a platform to make false accusations against Russia of using or preparing to use chemical weapons, just as it has done with Syria for the past nine years,” the ambassador said.
He noted that the United States and its allies have not only committed crimes against the Syrian people, but they continue to make persistent attempts to reproduce false accusations and fabrications against Syria in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, despite the fact that Damascus has implemented all what the Chemical Weapons Convention requires.
“Syria continues to be the target of unprecedented campaigns in OPCW history of skepticism and false accusations to achieve hostile political objectives of the US and its allies that they were unable to achieve through direct and indirect warfare,” the diplomat said.
He mentioned the crimes against the Syrian people committed by the United States and its allies of occupying their land, flagrantly and openly looting their wealth, destroying their capabilities, besieging and starving them through economic terrorism represented by unilateral coercive economic measures.
They, too, supported the terrorist organizations that massacred innocent Syrians without morality or legal deterrence for nearly eleven years, in addition to direct attacks on Syrian territory by those countries under false pretenses, he concluded.
