Damascus, SANA The Committee for the Defense of Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees in Israeli Occupation Prisons organized Wednesday a solidarity stands in support of the prisoners on hunger strike in the occupation prisons, in front of the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Damascus.
During the stand, the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation was handed a memorandum in which the participants demanded to intervene to save the lives of the hunger strikers and to put pressure on the Zionist occupation to stop the arrest of Palestinians, without relying on a clear and explicit indictment.
The participants also called for working to release the prisoners Nasser Abu Hamid and the child Ahmed al-Manasra and Isra al-Jaabis, and to end the isolation file for the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons in an arbitrary and criminal way.
“The committee seeks to ensure that the prisoners enjoy family visits and inform the family of their children’s health condition, in addition to the committee’s delegates, including the medical team, warranting that the health conditions of the hunger strikers and respecting their dignity” Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Syria Andrea Heath said in a statement to SANA, noting that the committee is impartial and humane and encourages dialogue to reach solutions to avoid the deterioration of the prisoners’ health condition.
