Bucharest, SANA -ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 activities kicked off in Bucharest, Romania, on Monday with the participation of Syria represented by Minister of communication and Technology Eng. Eyad al-khateeb and the accompanying delegation.
The conference whose events ends on 14 October aims at outlining the general policies of the ITU for the period from 2024 till 2027, electing the senior executives, adopting its strategic and financial plan and addressing major issues concerning IT and communication.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs). The Plenipotentiary Conference (PP), ITU’s highest policy-making body, meets once every four years to set the Union’s general policies, adopt the four-year strategic and financial plans, and elect the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board.
Khaled Sharaf head of the Syrian mission and Chargé d’affaires of the Syrian embassy in Bucharest and the Syrian Consul Shaker Zaytoon attended the conference.
