Moscow, SANA- The administration of the liberated Kherson Province in southern Ukraine announced that the city of Novaya Kakhovka and the nearby hydroelectric station in the province were subjected to a missile strike by the Kyiv regime forces.
“The consequences are likely to be terrible, and now it is impossible to leave the city, there were intense shelling and violent explosions were heard,” the mayor of Kakhovka city in Kherson province, Vladimir Leontiev, told RIA Novosti news agency.
Leontiev added that shells fell on the city and in the area surrounding the hydroelectric station which led to the outbreak of fires there, and work is underway to determine the extent of the destruction, stressing that the situation in the city is complicated, as electricity and water are cut off.
The Russian Defense Ministry had announced earlier that the forces of the Kyiv regime launched an unsuccessful counter-attack on the Nikolaev and Kherson provinces on three axes.
