Moscow, SANA-Russian Defense Ministry announced that Ukrainian forces’ bombing of Kakhovskaya hydroelectric plant caused the suspension of three out of the six turbines operating at the plant.
Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement quoted by TASS news agency that the Ukrainian forces continue to regularly bombard the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric plant with GMLR missiles from the US HIMARS launchers as their new bombing of the plant last Friday caused the suspension of the work of turbines operating the plant.
The statement stressed that stopping the work of the three turbines made the plant operate in a pre-emergency mode, warning that a defect in the unified electrical system may lead to an environmental disaster in the entire region.
