Nur-Sultan, SANA- Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi has affirmed that the recent developments related to the 18th International Meeting on Syria in the Astana format showed the increasing importance of the Astana process for these talks.
Tileuberdi’s remarks came in a speech at an international conference titled “The Republic of Kazakhstan in the Modern System of International Relations”.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister said “The 18th round of the International Meeting on Syria in the Astana format, which was held on June 15 and 16 in Nur-Sultan, showed that in the context of the suspension of the Geneva talks, the role of Astana format is increasing”.
He pointed out that over the years, Kazakhstan has deservedly strengthened its position as an intermediary country open to dialogue in order to find acceptable solutions to all parties concerned.
