Damascus, SANA- The Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority discussed with a delegation of the Russian Coordination Body means to enhance and develop cooperation between Syria and Russia in the field of communications, information technology (IT), and cybersecurity.
That came on the sidelines of the 4th Syrian-Russian Joint Meeting to follow up on the International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees and Displaced.
The two sides discussed ways to benefit from the experience of the Russian companies in a way that would contribute to achieving integrated cooperation with telecommunication service operators and providers in Syria.
The Russian delegation embraced Director of Digital Development in the Russian Ministry of Communications and Media, a group of managers of Russian companies working in the field of communications and information technology, in addition to representatives of a Russian university and managers of satellite broadcasting companies.
In a statement to SANA reporter on the sidelines of the meeting, Director-General of the Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority, Eng. Manhal Junaidi highlighted the importance of continuing work and cooperation in all areas of communications and information technology to develop communications and information technology services.
Junaidi also underlined the importance of Syrian-Russian cooperation in the field of e-government and e-learning services and satellite services.
He called for activating cooperation between the private and public sectors in both countries in this field, while adhering to the conditions, standards and controls whose services are in the interest of the citizens of the two countries.
He underlined the necessity for activating cooperation in the field of training in communications and electronic services, including remote training through providing educational programs related to communications in a way that would increase training opportunities for workers in this important sector.
