Sophia, SANA- Syria and Bulgaria have discussed means to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.
That came during a meeting that brought together Chargé de’ Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Bulgaria, Muhammad Muhammad and representatives of the Bulgarian-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Bulgarian Parliament.
Head of the Friendship Group, Victoria Vasileva highlighted the deep-rooted historic relations binding the two friendly countries.
Vasileva said that the new Bulgarian Parliament intends to play an effective role in revitalizing the bilateral relations and pushing them forwards, particularly in the domains of economy, trade and investment.
She added that any solution to the crisis in Syria must guarantee its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, wishing the return of peace and security to it.
For his part Muhammad referred to the negative effects of unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, calling to take action to lift them.
He briefed the Bulgarian side on the details of the legislative amnesty decree No. 7, which comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Syrian state to achieve reconciliation and the return of the displaced to their homeland.
