Syria participates in International Applied Physics Olympiad 2022

Damascus, SANA- The national team of the Syrian Science Olympiad for Physics has participated at the International Applied Physics Olympiad (IAPhO) 2022, which was organized by Indonesia remotely over two days with the participation of 17 countries.

The Excellence and Creativity Authority said in a statement that the Syrian team included a group of distinguished talents from the members of the national team for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for Physics, namely Ammar Masoud, Ahmed Sami Skeif, Mohammad Suleiman, Seif El-Din Khadra, Amira Shalhoub, Amjad Younes, Jana Noaman, Laith al-Sheikh, and Rasin Shabib.

The authority explained that this Olympiad is distinguished from other competitions by its testing, which is limited to one math problem and is required to be solved within a long period of time that does not exceed 37 hours.

The team must present the solution and write an article on the general idea of the problem and the studied physics phenomenon related to it.

It is noteworthy that the participation of the Syrian Science Olympiad at the International Applied Physics Olympiad for the past year 2021 was crowned with harvesting five silver medals out of a total of 20 medals and a bronze out of a total of three medals.
