Kyiv authorities and Ukrainian extremists use civilians as human shields

Moscow, SANA- Kyiv authorities and Ukrainian extremists are still obstructing the passage of civilians from the humanitarian corridor at Azovstal Steel Plant in Mariupol to use them as human shields, The Russian Federation’s Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response, said in statement.

Despite the Russian humanitarian initiative to evacuate civilians from the Azovstal Steel Plant, the Kyiv authorities recklessly obstructed this humanitarian operation, the headquarter said.

The headquarters added that while Kyiv officials constantly announce the numbers of women and children who claim that they are being held in underground facilities in Azovstal, they, on the other hand, deliberately reject all humanitarian initiatives from the Russian side to take any practical measures to evacuate these people, which confirms the disregard of the authorities in Kyiv about the destiny of their citizens.
