Homs, SANA- Hassia Industrial City has reached an advanced stage by investing in renewable energies while providing all facilitations to encourage industrialists to set up projects to generate electricity from solar or wind energy on the rooftops of the hangars in their facilities.
Director of the industrial city in Hassia, Dr. Bassam al-Mansour, told SANA that the city administration had taken the lead in establishing renewable energy projects, as it had studied, designed, supplied, implemented and installed lights for the government complex in the industrial city in Hassia.
Al-Mansour referred to the projects put into service, including the implantation of a solar power project by one of the investors on the roof of his facilities to produce 60 kilowatt-hours, in addition to another project for a second investor with a capacity of 500 kilowatts.
He added that another facility with a capacity of one megawatt of solar energy was also implemented, highlighting the importance of the promising geographical location of Hassia Industrial City to produce electricity from solar energy.
Al-Mansour pointed to several renewable energy projects that Hassia embraces, including four implemented and installed projects, which are connected to the public electricity network in the Industrial City. There are two projects, each with a capacity of 30 watts, and a project of 100 kilowatts, and the last one with a capacity of 1,000 kilowatts.
About the project of installing a solar farm with a capacity of 10 megabytes in an initial step announced by the company that was established at Homs Chamber of Industry, al-Mansour noted that the land has been allocated to the company.
