Lavrov: Syria’s return to the Arab League helps unite Arab ranks and stances

Moscow, SANA- Syria’s return to the Arab League would help unite the Arab ranks and positions in the region and the world at large, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has affirmed.

Lavrov’s remarks came during a press conference with the ministers of the Arab Ministerial Group in Moscow on Monday.

“We expressed our hope for Syria’s return to the Arab League, and this issue will be resolved at the earliest and it will help unify Arab ranks and positions in the region and the whole world,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov added that the situation in the Middle East and North Africa was discussed, where there was a congruence of opinions on the Palestinian file, in addition to discussing the current situation and its development over the years which has led to turning Ukraine into an entity hostile to Russia.

With regard to the misleading and falsification campaign waged against Russia regarding Bucha City, noted that such a campaign is accompanied by all conflicts and crises and in the same way, and it is similar to the White Helmets campaigns in Syria.

Lavrov expressed his condemnation of rejecting Russia’s repeated request to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Bucha by Britain, which is currently chairing the council.

He stressed that the crimes committed by the Ukrainian armed forces and the neo-Nazis will not pass without a reaction within the framework of international humanitarian law, based on specific facts and very clear and indisputable evidence.

Lavrov made it clear that the unprecedented unilateral sanctions imposed by the West on Russia affect first of all the world economy, especially the countries that import agricultural products, fertilizers and many other needs related to communications and trade relations in which the Russian Federation participates.
