Russian MoD: Russian armed Forces take full control of Kherson region, southern Ukraine

Moscow, SANA- The Russian armed forces have taken full control of the entire territory of Kherson region during the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry announced during a daily briefing on Tuesday.

“In total, over the past day, the Russian military shot down two Ukrainian aircraft, a helicopter and 13 drones, while the Russian Air Force destroyed 136 Ukrainian military facilities, including seven management posts and communications nodes, four missile launchers, four radar reconnaissance stations and one radar radio station, four ammunition depots, 72 combat equipment stands,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

Konashenkov added that the Russian forces took control of a fortified point for nationalists and foreign mercenaries in Ukraine, where 10 Javelin missile systems and other weapons had been found and handed over to the forces of the Luhansk and Donetsk Republics.

He noted that the Russian armed forces also destroyed aircraft hangars at an airfield near Kramatorsk in the Donbass, which contained four Su-25 attack aircraft, one Mi-24 helicopter and five Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He added that the forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic continued their offensive operations, broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian nationalists, took over Panteleimonovka town and reached the outskirts of the towns of Verkhnitoretskoye and Novoselovka.

Since the beginning of the special operation, the Russian military has destroyed a total of 156 drones, 1306 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 127 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 471 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 1,054 units of special military vehicles, Konashenkov stated.
