Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, received on Wednesday a delegation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), headed by Eugenio Ambrosi and an accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the duties assumed by the international organization and means of activating its role in Syria.
In this regard, Mikdad briefed Ambrosi and members of the delegation on the efforts exerted by the Syrian state to secure the basic needs for citizens in light of the negative impacts represented by the unilateral coercive measures that affect all aspects of daily life and the importance of providing appropriate conditions for the return of refugees.
Mikdad also affirmed priority to guarantee delivering the humanitarian aid to those who deserve and commit to the principle of humanitarian work away from any politicization.
Ambrosi, for his part, expressed aspiration to revive and activate cooperation between the organization and the Syrian State.
