Brasilia, SANA-The death toll from the floods that hit Brazil has reached up to 94 people, the local authorities in the country announced on Thursday
At least 94 people died in the historic Brazilian mountain town of Petropolis, located in the hills above Rio de Janeiro, after heavy rains caused mudslides that buried homes, flooded the streets and washed away cars and buses, local government officials were quoted by Reuters as saying.
A previous toll indicated that at least 58 people died, while rescue and relief operations are still continuing in the affected areas.
