Damascus ,SANA – Special Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic, , Buthaina Shaaban, affirmed the importance of communication and coordination between Syrian and Russian academicians to document the events that took place during the terrorist war on Syria in order to benefit future generations.
Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of “Watan Document Foundation,” Shaaban, received on Tuesday a delegation of Russian professors and researchers at the institute of World Economy and International Relation ( IMEMO) and Primakov Center for International Cooperation.
“ The Turkish occupation of some parts in northern Syria is considered as one of the most dangerous occupation from which Syria has suffered in light of the systematic Turkification policy practiced by turkey in areas it occupies, as it teaches Turkish language and imposes the Turkish pound in transactions instead of Syrian Lira,” Shaaban said.
The Russian academicians expressed hope that cooperation with Syria would be boosted to work together and document the experiences and stories of the Russians who lived in Syria and participated with Syrian Arab army in defeating terrorism.
Director of the Russian Institute, for his part, added that the meeting with Shaaban dealt with cooperation with the Syrian side in the field of humanitarian, historical and cultural issues in addition to the national identity, preservation of tangible and immaterial heritage, popular history and a number of scientific and applied issues were discussed.
