Damascus, SANA- The Palestinian Embassy in Damascus held on Sunday a ceremony at Dama Rose Hotel on the occasion of International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister , Bashar al-Jaafari, reaffirmed Syria’s principled stance in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination on their national land and soil and to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and the refugees’ right to return to home.
Al-Jaafari stressed that Syria has always considered the Palestinian Cause as a Syrian cause par excellence.
” Until today, no progress has been made by the so- called international community to put an end to the Israeli occupation to Arab lands ,and the occupation authorities have not been held accountable for their occupation,”he added.
Ambassador of Palestine to Syria , Samir al-Rifai, stressed that this international day, approved by the UN General Assembly in 1977, is a clear recognition of the historic injustice that has affected the Palestinian people since Balfour Declaration issued on November 2nd 1917.
