Moscow, UN: providing humanitarian assistance in Syria without politicization

Moscow, SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin met the United Nations’ Regional Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria Muhannad Hadi on Friday to discuss latest developments in Syria and access of humanitarian assistance to its beneficiaries.

The two sides stressed the need for mobilizing the comprehensive international humanitarian assistance for the people in need throughout the country without politicization, discrimination and preconditions, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Special attention had been paid to ensuring the full implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2585, which provides, among other things, the tasks of increasing humanitarian assistance to Syrians and implementing projects for the early restoration of the civilian infrastructure of a way that mitigates the repercussions of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, the statement added.
