Moscow ,SANA – Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II discussed on Wednesday with Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister , Mikhail Bogdanov the situation in Syria and the region.
During the meeting, Aphrem II referred to the current difficult situations in the region , particularly in Syria , the crises and their repercussions on civilians.
He called for intensifying efforts to know the whereabouts of bishops, Paul Yazigi, Metropolitan of the Greek Orthodox of Aleppo and Yohanna Ibrahim, Metropolitan of Aleppo for the Syriac Orthodox, who were kidnapped by the terrorist organizations in Aleppo countryside.
Bogdanov ,for his part , briefed the Patriarch on Russia’s efforts exerted in the region and its keenness to continue the work to reach appropriate and comprehensive solutions to the crises .
