Coronavirus pandemic claims lives of 4.8 million people worldwide

Capitals, SANA- More than 4,878,000 deaths by the coronavirus pandemic have been recorded worldwide since the outbreak of the pandemic in December 2019, according to the American Worldometers website.

“Till now, the total number of infections has reached up to 239,369,005, while the death toll has amounted to 4,878,602 and the recoveries have reached up to 216,645,611,” the site added.

The worst-affected country by the virus is still the US which comes in the first place in terms of the number of infections and fatalities as it has recorded 735,917 deaths out of 45,374,288 infections.

Then India comes second with 451,220 deaths out of 34,000,478 infections while Brazil comes in third place as it has registered 601,398 deaths out of 21,590,097 infections.
