Tartous port re-opened after rainstorm recedes

Tartous, SANA- Director of Tartous Port Thaer Wannous stressed that Tartous commercial port and oil outlet were re-opened on Thursday morning after they had been closed for three days due to the rainstorm which hit the province.

The speed of the storm reached from 74 km to 100 km per hour while the height of waves amounted to 5.5 meters.

Wannous said that the port was re-opened after the storm receded as the speed of wind on Thursday became from 10 km to 18 km per hour and the height of waves reached 2 meters.

He added that no accidents or damage were reported due to the precautionary measures which have been taken before the beginning of the rainstorm.
