Competent authorities in Daraa thwart an attempt to smuggle antiquities out of Syria

Daraa, SANA- The competent authorities in Daraa thwarted an attempt to smuggle tens of antiquity pieces out of Syria.

Head of Antiquities’ Department in Daraa , Mohamad Khir Nasrallah, said that the department received 42 pieces from the authorities concerned, adding that the department’s exerts conducted technical expertise on the pieces which date back to different eras.

Secretary of Daraa National Museum, Wael Kiwan, indicated that the confiscated antiquities are pottery and glassware dating back to Roman and Hellenistic periods, and late modern bronze.
