Amman, SANA-Minister of petroleum and Mineral Resources, Bassam Touma, and Electricity Minister , Ghassan al-Zamil, discussed with Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati in Amman on Wednesday aspects of cooperation in the oil and electricity sectors and means to enhance them to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the two sides reviewed the situation of the electrical transmission network between Syria and Jordan, and the infrastructure of the Arab gas pipeline linking the two countries, and they discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the field of renewable energy and energy competence.
Minister Touhma said that the two sides discussed the joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of gas through the Arab Gas Pipeline, and discussed the technical status of this pipeline and the possibility of using it to transport gas.
They also exchanged a set of ideas that could form a solid ground for future cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
For her part, Minister Zawati stressed the importance of activating cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, based on the spirit of the brotherly relationship between them and within the framework of a policy that takes into consideration economic integration that serves the interests of both countries.
