Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday sent a cable of congratulation to the elected Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, on winning the Iranian presidential election.
In the cable, President al-Assad expressed, on behalf of the Syrian people and on his own behalf, heartfelt congratulations to the Iranian President on winning the presidential election, wishing that god will grant him success in his new responsibilities and to complete the approach of the Islamic Revolution in leading his country’s march towards further prosperity and progress in all fields for the good and interest of the steadfast Iranian people in the face of all schemes and pressures that aim to break their will and undermine their independent decision.
President al-Assad expressed care and keenness on the work with the Iranian new President on enhancing the path of bilateral relations based on deep-rooted historical friendship, mutual understanding and common interests between the two countries.
