Arab Lawyers’ Union calls for removing coercive measures imposed on Syria

Amman, SANA – Arab Lawyers’ Union called for lifting unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, stressing that they contradict the rules and provisions of international law.

“Rules of international legitimacy stipulate not to impose any unilateral measures as they contradict the rules and provisions of humanitarian international law because they have not been issued by Security Council” The Union’s Assistant Secretary-General, Samih Khreis, said in a letter addressed to the European Union’s Ambassador in Jordan.

The letter called on the EU leaders to remove those measures against the Syrian people who face terrorism in all its forms, particularly the economic one.
