Health Ministry launches first national anti- polio immunization Days for 2021

Damascus, SANA-Health Ministry on Sunday launched the first national anti-polio vaccination campaign for the year 2021 and it targets children under the age of five regardless of their previous vaccines.

The campaign will be carried out through 1073 health centers and 2437 mobile teams in different areas, and it targets more than 2.8 million children under the age of five in all Syrian provinces.

Around 4250 polio workers will participate in the campaign within the health centers, 4875 within the mobile teams, 130 within the supply teams and 750 observers who will provide vaccination to the children, adhering to strict COVID-19 precautionary measures and protocols while vaccinating children.
