Damascus, SANA- With the participation of 135 local and Arab companies, “SILA” international export exhibition for shoes, leather, and production requirements/Spring and Summer 2021, on Sunday evening started activities at the Fairgrounds on Damascus International Airport Highway.
The exhibition is organized by Arab Federation for Leather Industries in cooperation with the Federation of the Chambers of Industry and the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce.
Major Syrian and Arab companies producing shoes and leather products will participate in the exhibition which will last till Feb. 24th.
Industry Minister Ziyad Sabbagh, in a statement to journalists, underlined the importance of the exhibition as it introduces the local products which show the high quality of the Syrian industry and the return of its elegance.
Sabbagh added that the expo is an indication of the return of Syria to its normal status on the economic map.
Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mohammad Samer al-Khalil referred to the high quality of the Syrian products showcased at the exhibition as the Syrian industrialists have been able to develop them and preserve their quality despite of the terrorist war waged against Syria.
In a similar statement, Secretary-General of Arab Federation of Leather Industries Mohammad Kazara said that the exhibition contributes to enhancing trade exchange between the Syrian and Arab producers and industrialists.
Kazara expected that a lot of contracts will be signed with businessmen invited from abroad and this would contribute to activating the deep-rooted Syrian leather industry.
