Damascus, SANA –The development of economic cooperation relations and increasing trade exchange between Syria and Iran were the main points of discussion during a meeting held Sunday morning between Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, and President of the Joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Kiwan Kashefiy, and the accompanying delegation.
Both sides affirmed the importance of opening new horizons for cooperation to face the economic siege imposed on Syria and Iran, and they highlighted the key role of private sector in enhancing economic cooperation due to its capabilities, expertise and flexibility in the work.
Arnous underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between economic and trade activities in the two countries in domains of equipping factories and establishing joint projects and exchanging goods to meet the needs of the two countries’ markets.
For their part, head and members of Iranian delegation expressed desire of many Iranian companies to work in the Syrian market, raise the level of economic and trade relations, and exchange visits of trade delegations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, participants in the joint meeting of the board of directors of the joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Damascus discussed the reality of economic and commercial relations, administrative, procedural and legal issues and difficulties related to enhancing the flow of trade, services and investment between the two countries.
They stressed the need to make all possible efforts to enhance the Syrian-Iranian economic cooperation and upgrade it in the coming period to meet aspirations of the two countries and peoples, and to support the role of the Chamber in order to contribute to upgrading of the Syrian economy.
