Damascus, SANA –Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, received on Wednesday a copy of credentials of Ahmadu Adi Muhammad al-Radhi, as an Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Damascus.
Meeting the Mauritanian Ambassador, Mikdad welcomed Ambassador al-Radhi as representative of his country in Syria, wishing him success in his mission in a way that serves bilateral relations between the two countries and the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Mikdad hailed the Syrian-Mauritanian relations, stressing the need for enhancing cooperation between the two countries and pushing relations forwards to best levels.
He expressed Syria’s appreciation for Mauritania’s stance of support to Syria in its war against terrorism, asserting the need for unifying efforts and endeavors in facing the Western plots which aim at dividing the states, especially countries of the Arab region.
For his part, Ambassador al-Radhi expressed respect and appreciation for the important role played by Syria to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of science, culture and economy.
He praised the level and competence of the Syrian universities from which a lot of Mauritanian students were graduated.
