Damascus, SANA- On the occasion of Christmas, St. Ephrem Syriac Patriarchal body for Development, affiliated to the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East for the Syriac Orthodox Church, opened a charity bazaar to support the productive women in the hall of Mar Elias Church in Dwela’a.
The bazaar includes multiple products of food, sweets, handicrafts, wooden artifacts, icons, Christmas decorations supplies, clothes, and products made from natural and mystical materials made by church ladies and participants in charitable societies and commercial activities.
Bishop Boutros Kassis, Director General of St. Ephrem Syriac Patriarchate for Development, pointed out that the bazaar is part of the body’s activities during the Christmas period, in addition to a group of activities, aimed at enlightening women who display hand-made products and benefit from their revenues.
Director of Programs at the Body and , Diana Yazigi, for her part, told SANA that the handicrafts displayed were made by 35 women participating in the bazaar that encourages women through marketing their home-made products during the holidays and New Year.
