Syria reiterates its stance in support of the Palestinian right to self-determination

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faysal Mikdad, affirmed Syria’s principled and firm stance in support of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish their independent state on their entire national territory with Jerusalem as its capital and guaranteeing the right of refugees to return to their home.

Mikdad, in a letter addressed to Chairman of the Committee on Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Ambassador Cheikh Niang in New York, reiterated the principled and firm stance of the Syrian Arab Republic in support of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on their entire national territory in accordance with General Assembly Resolution No. 194 of 1948 that can’t be prescribed.

Minister Mikdad stressed that the Israeli settler colonialism in the occupied Arab territories  and the Israeli practices of demolishing villages and cities and the displacement of their inhabitants have been the essence of the policy of the Israeli occupation authorities since the first day of their occupation of Palestine and the Syrian Arab Golan, and that policy was accompanied by arbitrary, racial practices and gross violations and systematized violations of  all human rights of the Palestinians and the Syrians, residents in the occupied Arab territories  , some of which rise to war crimes.

He added that the Syrian Arab Republic rejects and condemns the so-called “deal of the century” and war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli occupation.
