Sweida, SANA-The Environment Directorate in Sweida in cooperation with the City Council, the Engineers Syndicate, and the Friends of the Environment Society and Family Planning Society organized a hike in the environment starting from the building of the directorate towards al-Basil Park.
During the event, the hikers participated in cleaning, weeding and pruning plants in the garden of the directorate and al-Basil park with the participation of a group of young volunteers.
Director of Sweida Environment Department, Engineer Refaat Khudir said that the hike came within the celebrations of the National Environment Day for this year and it conveys a message that calls on the civil society to participate hand in hand with the official institutions in maintaining the environment.
On Sunday, the opening of the celebrations of the National Environment Day in Sweida province have witnessed an environmental exhibition that included traditional industries and handicrafts, food products, and solar energy devices, in addition to honoring a number of sanitation workers from various neighborhoods of the province.
